You have arrived at the sign-up thread for the W [=0===0=[ TR 12 gallon water tank with sprayer . We are maintaining this list so we know when we have at least 100 ready to reserve and can begin the production run.
To sign-up please send a private message with “Sign me up for W[0===0=]TR 12 Gallon” in the subject.
For those not interested in the design process or who would prefer to sign up via email, you can do that HERE.
If you have any questions about signing up, or if you just want to post about signing up, you can do that in this thread also.
There will be a running tally and when it reaches the 100 unit threshold needed to begin production you will be notified via PM on how to convert your signup to an official reservation.

Do we click on the link in yellow? Do we send BoxGods a PM? Link sends me to Marsha.
Regardless, I came over from the Rivian Owners Forum, where I confirmed my intention to purchase.
I want to purchase the water tank and the refrigerator. Willing to pay in advance as I understand that the initial manufacturing order is a bit much for any single person to finance.

The yellow link is easier but either will work. After you sign up you will get a PM from Marsha letting you know you are on the list and for which items.
When we have enough people on the sign up list to start production, Marsha will contact everyone with instructions on how to place their reservation and how much the reservation amount will be. Full price up front is very generous of you (and sincerely appreciated) but the reservation amount will likely be 50% or less depending on how many reservations there are.
What we really need help with is getting the message out about our projects, so if you can spread word on your Reddit, Face Book, favorite YouTube channels, etc. it would be most appreciated.

***UPDATE***
We have hit about 65 group members signed up for the frunk tank which is enough to get going on 3D printing a test article. I ordered a large format FDM printer big enough to print the water tank in just four pieces. I will keep you guys updated on how it is progressing.

*** UPDATE ***
3D printing of the test article continues. Even at 2 X the recommended print speed each of the 4 sections takes 24 to 30 hours to print. One section is done--the surface isn't pretty because of the increased print speed but it is dimensionally correct which is all we really need to test the fit. About 5 to 7 days to finish the other 3 sections--if the prints go OK--then another 2 or 3 days to assemble the 4 sections. Then a week to ship the part to Jeff in Portland to test the fit in an R1T and his newly delivered R1S =)
Progress continues!

*** UPDATE ***3D printing is done and the 4 sections have been bonded together and a coat of primer added.
For those not familiar with the process, this is a "mule" or fitment test article that is a dimensionally accurate prototype of the outside of the tank or the gross dimensions--the indentations for ribs, hatch covers etc. are only represented as outlines as they have no bearing on how well the tank will interface with the frunk. Also, the surface finish is nowhere near production quality because that is simply not needed for test fitting--so don't panic that it is not pretty yet =)
I just wanted to update you guys on progress and share as much of the process as I can for those that find it interesting. This is also a good time to point out that I made the mule myself because it saved the group about $3,000 to $4000 and about 2 to 3 weeks--actual production will be in a factory, not my shop--so again don't panic that it is not beautiful YET. Tomorrow the mule will be boxed up and shipped to Portland where Jeff will install it in his newly arrived R1S and Duck will test it in his R1T. This is a complex shape that fits into another complex shape so it is anywhere from unlikely to very unlikely that I got it 100% correct on the first try--which is why we make test mules in the first place. My hope is that it is close enough that only minor changes are needed and a second mule won't be required--but if I missed by a lot another mule is OK too. Fingers crossed as I spent a solid week on this one...

Hey, great job! I, for one, enjoy observing the process. Really looking forward to integrating this tank into my R1T.
I plan to use it to hose off dogs (and myself, I suppose).
Thanks for posting the update!

Thanks for posting the update! Yeah I love taking the dogs to run on the beach--they love it too of course--but they get covered in salt water and sand. This is going to make life a lot easier.

*** UPDATE ***The test print finally arrived! It is glorious! Two thoughts for all the people eager to see it: 1. This is a 3D print for shape and fit. It has no hose ports, hatch covers, etc.. 2. This was printed in 4 sections, joined, and painted with white primer so the part fit would be more visible in pictures. The actual rotomolded production parts will be the blue shown in all the product renders.

It looks like Duck is out of the country until mid January. If there is an R1T owner in the Portland area that wants to help out with a test fit of the tank mule, please PM me or Jeff to schedule something. You can check out his newly arrived R1S and have lunch or something =)

*** UPDATE ***
Special thanks to Snomad who met with Jeff Wednesday so we could test fit the tank in his sub 5000 VIN R1T. Everything went well and the tank fits like it was born there.
From our test fittings it looks like we are all set for both R1T and R1S owners. I am now locking in quotes for the roto-molding tooling and the various components. We should be contactig group members on the 12 Gallon Tank sign-up list in the next 7 to 10 days about placing their reservations.
PROGRESS =)

Hello. Are you able to provide any updates on final design, availability, and expected cost? I have not noticed any new messages in my inbox regarding reservations. Thanks in advance!
