Thanks for the updates. I would definitely be interested in the Seaflo pump in housing. Thanks for the feedback. I will be sending out an email update with pricing / schedule once I have all the information in. Sometime in January. When exactly will depend on how smooth prototyping and testing goes.

I received my tank. Finally rinsed it out this last weekend. Love the idea. One less thing to take up bed space.
Has anyone thought about creating risers to be able to use the factory divider? My thought was some extension brackets in the rear and stand offs in the front.

How often is everyone cleaning the tank?
How long can you keep the same water before flushing out and replacing with new water?

If so, there is no need as the tank can support as much or more weight than the self.

How often is everyone cleaning the tank? How long can you keep the same water before flushing out and replacing with new water? Commercially package water is supposed to be good for 5 years. Self stored water in a tank is supposed to be good for 1 year. Both of those assume storing in a cool dry place with minimal sunlight. Personally I would never store it longer than 3 months without washing out the tank and refilling. You also need to make sure your water never freezes as this can rupture the tank.

Yeah, we went out to do some snow wheeling and I almost put a little bit of water in the tank for coffee/cocoa while we were out. Then I remembered it was 16* outside and I didn't want to deal with that mess...

Is there anything we can add to the tank setup to keep it above freezing? Thermostat controlled 12v heating element, heating pad, etc.?

Is there anything we can add to the tank setup to keep it above freezing? Thermostat controlled 12v heating element, heating pad, etc.? There are a few ways. Self stick 12v tank heating pad is likely the easiest. The type used for RV's. Start your search on Amazon. I wasn't able to do any testing as I live in South Texas. I did leave enough space to put a quilted movers blanket--also available on Amazon--under the tank for some insulation. Put the blanket in the frunk, put the tank, (with the heater attached to the bottom of the tank) on top of the quilt, then fold the quilt over the top of the tank. Obviously you would want to test everything in your driveway first before using this on a winter camp--and as I said earlier, it's too hot where I live to test any of this myself.

Quick Update for those of you following the SeaFlo external pump upgrade.
Forged carbon pump covers were way to expensive at about $350 for just the covers. I then looked at 3D printed PETG which was a good bit more reasonable but not quite as robust as aluminum would be, and almost all of you have said you would prefer aluminum even if it was a little bit more expensive.
CNC Machined billet aluminum covers were also withing range cost wise but kind of on the chunky side looks (and weight) wise and nowhere near as sexy looking as the forged carbon.
It took a few weeks to figure out but it looks like we are going to go with cast aluminum. It is kind of the best of both worlds as it's the strength of aluminum and because it's cast we get a more OEM / Automotive look. I will probably go with black powder coating but Rivian yellow like the brake calipers is also an option. Will depend on what the group prefers.
It means yet another round of 3D prints to confirm everything fits before I order the casting tools but I'm pretty stoked as I think it will be worth it.
Preliminary pricing looks like it will be in the $125 to $150 range so a bit spendy but not crazy. That includes the SeaFlo pump, the power cable, pickup hose, clunk, and all the other bits and bobs. Going as quick as I reasonably can so they can ship in time for Spring.

If anybody has the poor taste issue, I finally did something that worked. I poured a bottle of lemon juice in an almost full wooter, drove for the day, and flushed that night. No more funny smelling water! Amazon Brand, Happy Belly 100% Lemon Juice, 32 Fl Oz a.co/d/fsnDMGo

At which end of your fill hose? I ask because I occasionally see people filter at the faucet and then run the filtered water through 50 feet of regular old garden hose--I'm not saying that is what you're doing--just pointing it out for anyone who might be. The included fill hoses are food grade NSF approved hoses so for anyone filtering their water it is a "best practice" to place the filter between the fill hose and your garden hose--not between the faucet and the garden hose.
