Hey Gene, I know you're still finalizing, but do you have any updated thoughts on your targeted cost for this now? Just trying to budget, since these go in runs, I don't want to miss the first run in case there isn't enough for a second. I was originally targeting $550 for the Utility Tray and $150 for the onboard power/outlets--everyone wants the power so we are rolling those in together. We have had to make some changes that will push the price up a bit. Aluminum extrusions didn't work out and we had to switch to folded sheet metal as one example. Since we're shipping it assembled we have to switch to a wooden crate rather than a box as another example. My best estimate at this point is about $900 - $950. Again that includes the onboard power outlets. I could pare back on some of the features and go a little cheaper on the materials and finishes to get closer to my original estimate, but I really want the Utility Tray to be "equipment grade" rather than an "accessory". On a related note I finally tracked down the Rivian paint codes and I'm trying to figure out a way to offer the end plates color matched to your truck as an optional add on. It would likely be an extra $100 - $150. Again it would be optional, something we could only do if there is enough interest, and something we would only do on the first run as a nod to early supporters.

Since these are a niche product anyway, I, personally, am fully prepared to, as the cool kids say, pimp it out. So I for one would love the idea of a paint matched end plate.

I feel EXACTLY the same way. I would also really like to find a way to differentiate first run / early backers if at all possible. Tracking all the different orders would be a logistics nightmare for Marsha but she is game if we can swing it. And I think the cool kids are saying "Flex" now =)

Please add Compass Yellow end plates for my Bumble Bee. 😁 If we do run the body color matched end plates It would likely end up being everyone in the first run selects their color and there would be a minimum number required for each color. That minimum will/would depend on how much paint is needed. Ive made it so the end plates are easily removable--4 screws--so if I can't get it done via the factory it would still be possible for you guys to get them painted locally.

We are coming up on mid-point of Spring. Last you reported in late March was “Building out the second production prototype”. Would it be possible to get a status update and at least a best guess estimate on ship date? Thanks for all the effort.

Gene, Noticed you do not have a logo and threw one together. Could be debossed into the side plates? LMK if you'd like the .eps vector file. imgur.com/a/D3LLAbP

Would it be possible to get a status update and at least a best guess estimate on ship date? Thanks for all the effort. I've been in Detroit for an engineering trade show this last week for my day job. Everything for the 2nd production validation unit is done except for the slide rail assemblies. Once we have those in everything will be assembled and I will get some pictures for you guys. Bear in mind they will be raw parts--no powder coating. If everything fits together and is functional we will take it all apart and send it out for powder coating. Then reassemble and ship to one of you guys for test fitting. If everything goes well in the truck we are ready for production and Marsha will send out the pre-order link. The camp kitchen design is pretty much done with the exception of a few decisions the group needs to make on finishes/colors, the sink cover / cutting board, etc. I will get the prototype for that going right away. Sorry for the lost time for the work trip, but on the plus side I got to see my first R1T in the wild. It was only for a quick minute at a stop light in Wixom MI but I was still freaking out a bit. It was launch green =)

Here in San Diego I often stop at lights and see 2 or 3 in an intersection.

I’m interested in the slide out but not the kitchen. Is that still in process? Sorry but I just came across this site and couldn’t read all 18 pages of posts yet.
